Sarasota County Florida Republicans at odds with Ron Paul supporters

  • The Sarasota Herald Tribune is reporting that the Sarasota County Florida Republican Party is at odds with party members who are Ron Paul supporters.
  • Their chairman, Eric Robinson, is quoted as saying ""They want to take over the REC (Republican Executive Committee),...They are not offering what we thought they were offering."
  • The Sarasota Herald Tribune goes on to say "Now party leaders are doing everything they can to block new members from joining the Republican Executive Committee. That has included freezing its membership and adjourning a monthly meeting early to prevent Paul supporters from speaking."
  • As they have done in other states during caucus proceedings the Ron Paul supporters are promoting their platform of traditional Republican values including less government and more personal freedoms among other things.
