McCain Citizenship Complaint Filed in U.S. District Court in Riverside, Calif

  • Andrew Aames, a 52 year old Riverside, California lawyer filed a two-page complaint filed March 6 in U.S. District Court in Riverside, California questioning if John McCain meets the requirements of the Constitution to run for President.
  • The basis of the complaint is that McCain was born in 1936 in the Panama Canal Zone where his father was stationed with the Navy. At the time the Canal Zone was a US Territory.
  • According to an AP article "McCain said last month the issue was put to rest 44 years ago when Republican Barry Goldwater sought the presidency. Goldwater was born in Arizona when it was a territory."
