Obama and McCain ask Hillary Clinton for Full Disclosure on Earmarks

  • On March 13, 2008 the US Senate voted to suspend earmarks for one year.

  • The bill was supported by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain but, was defeated in a 71 to 29 vote.

  • In advance of the vote Barack Obama released information on earmarks he had requested over the last three years.

  • Both McCain and Obama requested that Clinton disclose all information on earmarks she had requested for the same time period but, as of this writing that information has not been released.

  • Obama and Clinton did not have to make a similar request of McCain who does not request earmarks.
