Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is scheduled for a meeting with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on March 31, 2008 and Republican presidential candidate John McCain on April 1, 2008.- He will also speak with Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama by phone sometime this week.
- Rudd who was sworn in as Prime Minister on December 3, 2007 announced his support for Hillary Clinton during his election campaign last year.
- Prime Minister Rudd's first official act upon being sworn in was to sign the Kyoto Protocol. Subsequently in January, he declared funding for the homeless and he supports the withdrawal of Australian troops from Iraq.
- Bloomberg.Com reports that Rudd, 50, is in the U.S. on the first stop of a global trip to meet policy makers and corporate executives that will also take in China, Europe and the U.K.
