The Washington State GOP convention will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008 through Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Spokane Convention Center.
Despite the fact that John McCain is the presumptive nominee The Seattle Times reports that in many counties Ron Paul has substantial support.
According to The Seattle Times in Spokane County (5th Congressional District), 106 of the 114 delegates going to the state convention are Ron Paul supporters, along with 11 of 13 delegates from Stevens County, four of eight from Asotin County, and two of five from both Lincoln and Ferry counties.
As has been the case in other states, the Washington State GOP has already instituted one last minute rules change concerning delegates. It is uncertain how that change will affect the Ron Paul supporters. The text of the rules change resolution can be viewed here.

Republican delegates selected in February caucused last Saturday in Washington to choose delegates for the state's Republican Convention which is scheduled to occur May 29-31, 2008.
According to an article in The Chronicle, "In Lewis County, McCain led in Feb. 19 primary, but tied Ron Paul in the Feb. 9 caucuses, with each receiving 45 delegates. Mike Huckabee, who has since dropped out of the presidential race, had 37 delegates."
District one in Lewis County selected three delegates for McCain and four for Ron Paul while district two selected four for McCain and three for Paul. Results for other counties have been difficult to find.
Chelan County will hold its convention today, and Stevens County is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2008.

Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee was upset last week when John McCain was declared the winner of the Washington State Republican Caucus and counting of the votes was halted before 100% of the precincts had been counted. After receiving complaints the Washington Republican Chairman Luke Esser had counting resume on February 10, 2008.

The results showed John McCain winning with 26% of the vote compared to Mike Huckabee's 24% and Ron Paul's 22% with 96% of precincts reporting.

Washington is one of the few states to hold both a caucus and a primary. As a result Mike Huckabee will get a second chance to have all of the votes counted with the February 19, 2008 primary.
