The Washington State GOP convention will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008 through Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Spokane Convention Center.
Despite the fact that John McCain is the presumptive nominee The Seattle Times reports that in many counties Ron Paul has substantial support.
According to The Seattle Times in Spokane County (5th Congressional District), 106 of the 114 delegates going to the state convention are Ron Paul supporters, along with 11 of 13 delegates from Stevens County, four of eight from Asotin County, and two of five from both Lincoln and Ferry counties.
As has been the case in other states, the Washington State GOP has already instituted one last minute rules change concerning delegates. It is uncertain how that change will affect the Ron Paul supporters. The text of the rules change resolution can be viewed here.

With between 62% and 100% of precincts reporting John McCain received 424,912 votes to Mike Huckabee's 241,248, Ron Paul's 49,956 and Alan Keyes's 1,605 in the Washington and Wisconsin primaries.
John McCain received 49% and 55% of the votes in Washington and Wisconsin respectively while Huckabee received 22% and 37%, Paul received 7% and 5% and Keyes received 0%, for the same states. The remaining percentage of voters cast their votes for former candidates Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Rudy Guiliani, Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo.

With between 62% and 100% of precincts reporting Barack Obama received 952,455 votes to Clinton's 719,352 in the Hawaii, Washington and Wisconsin caucus/primaries.
Barack Obama received 76%, 50% and 58% of the votes in Hawaii, Washington and Wisconsin respectively while Clinton received 24%, 47% and 41% for the same states.
The remaining percentage of voters cast their votes for former/lesser known candidates John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich, Bill Richardson, Joe Biden, Mike Gravel, Chris Dodd, or as uncommitted.

Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee was upset last week when John McCain was declared the winner of the Washington State Republican Caucus and counting of the votes was halted before 100% of the precincts had been counted. After receiving complaints the Washington Republican Chairman Luke Esser had counting resume on February 10, 2008.

The results showed John McCain winning with 26% of the vote compared to Mike Huckabee's 24% and Ron Paul's 22% with 96% of precincts reporting.

Washington is one of the few states to hold both a caucus and a primary. As a result Mike Huckabee will get a second chance to have all of the votes counted with the February 19, 2008 primary.
